The Re-Entry Vehicle Toolbox from the IDS Computational Electromagnetic Laboratory has been integrated into the ADF-EMS v5.1 system. The software aims to provide a set of capabilities for the analysis and optimization of RF links between a re-entry vehicle and ground or satellite relay stations.
This antenna framework design system allows the user to perform multiple tasks such as importing vehicle trajectories, defining ground station data, relaying satellite positions, reading plasma cloud configurations, outlining an EM model of the vehicle, and creating an EM model of an antenna. The Re-Entry Vehicle Toolbox is also applicable to the evolution of the link performance of radio systems on moving platforms, and to the evaluation of EM propagation through other kinds of plasma configurations.
