L-Band Variable Gain Amplifiers L-Band Variable Gain Amplifiers

ETL Systems offers a series of Variable Gain Amplifiers operating in the L-band (850-2150 MHz). These amplifiers have 0 to 30 dB gain settable in 1 dB gain steps with a built in regulator. Model options are available with end-to-end connectors or connectors on the same face, and are either in-line powered or externally powered. Field applications for these devices include telecom infrastructures, satellite systems, microwave links, test and instrumentation, military communications, and radar networks.

ETL Systems offers a series of fixed-gain tubular amplifiers with 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 dB gain that operate in the L-band (850-2150 MHz). These amplifiers are available in DC pass biased from either RF port, DC block biased from output port, 10 MHz and DC pass biased from either RF port, DC blocked biased from input port, 10 MHz and DC block biased from output port, or 10 MHz and DC block from input port. Typical field applications for these devices include telecom infrastructures, satellite systems, microwave links, test and instrumentation, military communications, and radar networks.

The VGLCDLA30RPDC is a variable gain GPS line amplifier featuring a range of 0 to 30 dB with LCD display and push button controls in 1 dB increments. The frequency response covers L1/L2/L5 and Galileo/GLONASS bands. The push button control along with the LCD display allows users to make precise adjustments quickly and view the output power at any given time to make testing more efficient.

Two models of digitally controlled variable gain amplifiers operating in the 400- to 2700-MHz range are available from RFMD. They both featured power-up programming, 12-bit SPI serial control programming, single +5V supply, a gain control range of 31.5dB, dual channel VGA, full internal matching and no external bias inductors. Two 6-bit digital step attenuators, and 50dBc channel isolation. These amplifiers can be used in cellular, 3G infrastructure, WiBro, WiMax, LTE, Microwave Radio, and High Linearity Power Control applications.

RFMD’s RFDA2046 is a digital controlled variable gain amplifier featuring high linearity over the entire gain control range with noise figure less than 5.2dB in its maximum gain state. The gain of the 6-bit digital step attenuator is programmed with a serial mode control interface (SPI). The RFDA2046 is packaged in a small 6.0mm x 6.0mm leadless laminate MCM, which contains plated through thermal vias for ultra-low thermal resistance. This module is easy to use with no external matching components required.
